Caboxanque
Caboxanque is a proud Balanta community known for resilience and strength. It is also the most recent of our completed water access projects.
For years, daily life was defined by the burden of water collection. Families walked long distances under intense heat, carrying heavy containers simply to meet basic household needs. Hours of each day were consumed securing what should be readily available.
When water must be fetched from afar, every aspect of life is affected. Children lose study time. Mothers carry physical strain. Daily worship and routine are shaped by exhaustion.
Recognizing that growth, whether social, spiritual, or economic, cannot occur without foundational stability, water access was established within the village.
Today, clean water is available locally. The daily journey has been shortened. Physical strain has been reduced. Time has been restored to households. The change is practical but profound. When water flows within a village, dignity returns. Families operate with greater stability. The rhythm of daily life shifts from survival to sustainability.
Caboxanque stands as a clear example that infrastructure, when thoughtfully implemented, restores balance to an entire community.
